You know the drill – Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years… and then a whole lotta nothing. Most peeps don’t even have a day off of work until flippin’ May! Hellooo, shouldn’t we as humans have organized holidays better instead of clumping them all into 3 months of the year?!
This poor little puppy is feeling it too. Even though winter is Cali’s favorite time of year (no bugs and no panting), it also means no walks because it’s freezing outside. So what do you do to pass these “eh” months by then? Buy TV shows on DVD and watch them 24/7 of course!
Ben used some of his Christmas money to splurge on the first season of Mad Men (it was on sale at Target for $9.99). MM is both awesome and appalling all at the same time. The writing is superb and I love seeing all the different sets and clothes from that era. We devoured it within a week!
Then, The Vampire Diaries Seasons 1 and 2 went on sale at Target last week for $15/each and I couldn’t say no. Several people had recommended I watch this show (I figured what the heck since I’d seen Breaking Dawn 4 times already). I forced bribed kindly asked Ben to watch one episode with me before he vetoed it. We’re halfway through the 1st season – I love it and he tolerates it:)
Oh, and when I’m not enthralled with teenage vampire dramas you’ll find me reading this tasty treat. After reading The Hunger Games for the 2nd time and finishing The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks for my book club, I was in the mood for something fun and lighthearted. Enter Kelly from The Office. Love it!
That’s about all we’ve been up to lately. Almost every day I try convincing myself to start on some of the house projects that need to get done, but then a world with vampires just seems way more exciting! What do you do to keep busy with Old Man Winter? Anyone have any other TV shows on DVD recommendations? How do you motivate yourself when baby, it’s cold outside?
